Welcome To The Health Hub

Last week I decided to switch to soya milk to reduce my lactose intake. I’m happy to say that it has, without a doubt, helped me with my digestive issues. I did find that some of those came back when I ate more than a couple of slices of bread and more pasta than usual. So I’ve decided to also try reducing my gluten intake as well. I’m not quite there 100% yet with either of these, but I’m working on it and I am seeing a difference already. I haven’t been tested for gluten or lactose intolerance, but hey, if it works, it works.

This week, I was very anxious from Friday to Sunday because I was due to get some news on Monday, that could have either been good or bad. It was only on Sunday night that I realised I had been overeating due to the anxiety for a few days.

Now, in the past I would have considered skipping a couple of meals, I would have put myself down. I would have assumed I’ve failed and gone completely bananas by eating everything in sight.

Instead, I gave myself compassion. I acknowledged that I was overeating, I understood why I was feeling anxious and I allowed myself to feel that way without giving myself a hard time. Then, I reminded myself that I was going to find out soon, but I didn’t try to push down the feeling or dismiss it in any way. I also didn’t tell myself to stop eating, as I used to in this situation. Instead, I just made sure I was mindful of why I was craving these foods.

In case you’re interested, the news was good and I’m very happy about it.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

As I said above, I was mostly over-eating due to anxiety during this time and I wasn’t in the right headspace to track any of it.

I did track 210 minutes of activity on these days though.

Tuesday – Weigh Day ⚖️

Syns – 13.5

Activity – 180 minutes

Week Ten Progress

This week seems to have gone downhill towards the end, but, as I said, I’m not dwelling on it. What’s done is done and there’s nothing I can do to change it. All I can do now is learn from the lessons it taught me and carry them forward.

Weight – 1lb lost

BMI – 0.2 lost

Body fat % – 0.4% lost

Waist – maintained

Hips – maintained

Thighs – maintained

I’m so shocked that I lost anything this week. I can only guess that what helped me was having no high-syn food in the house. So when I did overeat it was mostly free or low-syn foods. I’m only 1 pound away from half a stone now so that’s my focus for the coming week.

Oh! I also got Slimmer of the Week again!
