Life Lately | 13.09.2020
Hi guys, there’s so much going on in my life right now that I thought it would be good to touch base with you all. Just to basically share where I’m at, what I’m doing, and what I’m planning to do.
I’ve decided to join Slimming World. It’s been recommended to me before, but it seemed too difficult. With all the rules and lists of what you can and can’t eat. Not to mention I disliked the use of the word “syns” for “bad” food. Yes, I know it means synergy, but the way people spoke about them was like they were sinful food that you should never eat. Now that I’ve looked into it I understand that SW promotes everything in moderation. It’s not about denying yourself foods you enjoy all together. So anyway, I will have my first group meeting in a couple of days and I’ll let you know how it goes.
Which brings me to where I’ll let you know. I’ll have a new section of this blog dedicated to my health journey in the hopes that it will a) keep me accountable and b) offer you all some inspiration.
Also, on the health side of things, as well as following Slimming World I’ll be trying out intermittent fasting too. Purely because I find it easier to say “no” to all food during a certain time frame, rather than “I can have a bit of that, but not too much”. I’ll let you know how this is going in the health-related blog posts.
I desperately need to find a housekeeping system that works for me, and I know that there are so many out there to choose from. So, each week I’ll be testing out a different one, seeing what works well and what doesn’t, and giving you guys my honest opinion on it. Afterwards, I’ll hopefully know what works in my home and be able to create a personalised schedule that fits with my life and works effortlessly.
Additionally, I would love to move out of my flat and into a house. I don’t mind if it needs a lot of work. I would just like a house with a modest-sized garden and enough room for my small family. Obviously, this isn’t just going to fall into my lap, so I’ve decided now is as good a time as any to start taking some steps towards that goal.
Christmas. Wait! Hear me out
I try to be as organised at possible around the holidays. Not only does it cut down on stress but it increases the festive cheer. I wanted to share with you all how I do it. So, from October 7th to December 24th, I’ll be sending out weekly blog posts. These will outline how to have a less chaotic Christmas this year.
Just a few days ago I downloaded the FreeTrade app (Apple app store, Google play store) to slowly introduce myself into the world of investing. So far things are looking good. To start out with I’ve played it safe by investing £20, and I’ll see how things work as I go.
And I guess that’s pretty much it for what’s going on right now with me. What have you guys been up to?
