Goodbye 2019 and hello to a New Year and a new decade!
Not gonna lie, the start of 2019 was great for me, but the last 9 months were I think probably the most difficult times I’ve lived through.
I’m finally starting to feel like I’m pulling my life back together so a New Year is just perfect for me right now.
I’m ready to thank the old me and my old life for everything it has taught me, and let it go to pursue a happier and brighter future.
Maybe it’s because of the troubles I faced this year, or that it’s a new decade, but this truly feels like the start of something great.
I had to be strong this year. So strong I didn’t think I was capable, but I had to get through it. Sure, things aren’t perfect and rosy now, but that’s an impossible lifestyle anyway. The struggles I’ve come through already this year have shown me that I can continue to push until I’m free of them
2019 taught me that I am able to stand on my own two feet, and that sometimes the only person you can truly rely on is yourself. That sounds depressing, but it’s made me realise that I don’t show up for myself as much as I would like to. It’s given me something to work on to improve my life.
Planning for the New Year
Goals and Mini-Goals
Be happier with my body
By following my current training program, focusing on my nutrition, drinking more water, getting better quality sleep and rejoining the gym (and actually using it).
Keep up with my Bullet Journal
I started my first BuJo in the middle of last year. I kind of let it slip from October onwards because I just didn’t make time for it. This year I plan to check it once or twice a day.
Start regular bike rides with the kids
I bought my youngest a new bike for Christmas, and I want to spend good quality time with them while building a healthier lifestyle for us. I need to adjust a few things on the bikes first but hopefully we’ll be on them soon and going on regular rides.
Focus more on the blog
I seriously dropped the ball with this blog at the end of 2019. I just couldn’t find the motivation to write, and when I did I had no inspiration of what to write about. I’ve revamped my schedule so I should be more active on here in 2020.
Finish decluttering and re-decorating
I started KonMari (round 2) last year and then stalled. This year I intend to finish it, keep up with it, and re-decorate my home so it better reflects the new life I’m building.
OK, I don’t actually have a lot of debt. I paid off all of my debts 2 years ago. With all the challenges of 2019, my finances took a hit so I do have some debt again now. I want to focus on getting debt-free again this year.
Be better prepared
I am a big procrastinator. I will leave something until the last minute. Not even the day before, I’ll do whatever the task is on the morning of when it needs to be completed by. I don’t enjoy this. It’s stressful and makes me feel very disorganised. My goal is to be prepared for events days/weeks in advance, depending on what it is.
I am so pumped up for this decade, which is so weird because I don’t usually get this excited. Onward to a happier and healthier future.
I love hearing what your goals are and your plans to achieve them. Did you achieve your goals from last year? If so, well done to you! Please share with us how you did it. Let us know in the comments.
Wishing you a very happy new year.
