Some of the things I love right now, ok I’m actually obsessed with some of them!
Playing Clue / Cluedo
Oh and I’m also a big fan of the 1985 film Clue which was based on the board game. It’s a dark-comedy mystery with no less than THREE endings. It has been one of my favourite films for years.
Particularly the Pumpkin-spice latte and the Gingerbread Latte *heavenly*. Yes I know, not only am I late to the party but I’m also pretty basic. I didn’t think I’d like the PSL so I’d never tried it, but once I tried it I was hooked! Starbucks really need to roll out this fabulous drink for longer.
The Handmaid’s Tale
I came across this show when it first aired in 2017. I read a short description stating that it was about a society in which fertile women are forced into child-bearing slavery, and I was put off. It was only this year I had some free time on my hands and decided to actually watch the show. Oh boy was I not prepared for this! Before I knew it I was staying up late so I would know what happened to June Osbourne next. It was deeply disturbing and yet captivating at the same time.
I think the aspect that I love most about the series, is that June is realistic. She’s not another “Mary Sue”. Some times you’re singing her praises, others you want to call her an idiot, but that makes her character plausible. She fails more than she succeeds and I think that approach has made this show better. It’s more realistic and you can easily imagine it happening in real life, adding to the horror of it all. I won’t give away any spoilers here, but season 3 episode 10 “Bear Witness” damn near broke my heart!
I am a complete failure in the kitchen, so I try not to make anything too difficult too often. My youngest (9) decided to host a dinner party, meaning I was now hosting a dinner party with her help. We decided to try this recipe from What Charlotte Baked for a Terry’s chocolate orange cheesecake, it was absolutely delicious. I was worried the dark chocolate would be too bitter so I substituted for milk chocolate and it worked fine.
This has been on my Netflix watch list for months without me ever pressing play, but once I did it was playing every spare minute I had. What I love most about it is that I find myself learning things I never knew before. While the show can’t boast 100% accuracy, it does make me curious and so I look things up.
OK, I’m a big procrastinator so I tend to not look in my BuJo for a few days at a time, but I enjoy making creative spreads and having a plan, lists and goals all written down in one place. A place that I can decorate (or not) in anyway I see fit.
While I’m not deeply invested in seemingly random drawn cards depicting my fate and future, I do find the whole concept rather interesting. I’m only using an online Tarot reader every day at the moment, though I have asked for a Tarot deck for Christmas and intend to use it. It’s intriguing to me.
What are you into right now? Or what do you love that you’ve been into for a long time and don’t see yourself stopping any time soon?
